Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) means Universal Life-force Energy, and the therapist’s ability to bring about healing is gained through energy attunements (Western style) or empowerments (original Japanese method), which open and clear a channel in the giver for energy to flow through to wherever it is most needed in the receiver. The healing occurs on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level, which makes REIKI a HOLISTIC APPROACH TO WELLBEING.
The UNIVERSAL LIFE-FORCE ENERGY is known as CHI in China, KI in Japan, PRANA in India, DIVINE LIGHT or BREATH OF LIFE in Christian cultures, and nowadays we also refer to it as BIOENERGY or COSMIC ENERGY.
Anybody can receive reiki, but only those who have been empowered or attuned can practise reiki. A reiki treatment is a temporary connection to the universal energy source, which balances you and helps you heal faster and better; an empowerment or attunement establishes a permanent connection to REIKI, enabling you to heal yourself and help others for the rest of your life.
Anybody can be connected to and practise reiki on themselves and others – there are no pre-requisites – people decide to learn reiki for reasons as varied as self-development, self-healing, a desire to help others and even curiosity.
First developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui in Japan as a “Method to Achieve Personal Perfection”, REIKI teaches us mindfulness, oneness, living in the present, to accept and be part of change, it connects you to your inner wisdom and puts you in touch with your real self – from this position of power, you can make life-changing decisions for your highest good.
Over the last century REIKI has evolved into an accepted healing art and considered an established therapy in the West. Although a reiki treatment may look and feel like spiritual or faith healing, religion is not the driving force and personal beliefs are not the source or way of healing – this makes the system open to people from all backgrounds, irrespective of age, gender or creed, to give and receive reiki.
HolisticTreats PROFESSIONAL REIKI TRAINING COURSES integrate Western and original Japanese techniques and award you a reputable Western lineage and a rare and very short Japanese lineage, thus providing a solid foundation for your Reiki practice.
You will receive a comprehensive multimedia study pack providing theory, detailed information on the practical work you will be carrying out, with full instructions, as well as ongoing support as a student.
On completion of your training you will receive a certificate and unlimited free weekly empowerments afterwards.
Courses can be taken in a small group environment or individually, whichever suits you best.
For each course there are three options you can choose from:
• Scheduled workshops are live courses that allow you to train with me within a small group setting.
• One to One Sessions provide individual training with me when it suits you.
• Correspondence Courses that allow you to study over a period of several weeks, in your own home at your own pace.
Ideally, you’ll receive your multimedia study pack a week or two before your live course, so that you get the chance to familiarise yourself with the theory, thus leaving as much time as possible for practice on the course day, for you to gain more hands-on experience and confidence than people on other courses. But do not worry in case you join a live course workshop at very short notice - the multimedia pack will still prove to be of great support for your practice after attending the course.
